Viper (Rapper) Early Life
The birthplace of Carter is El Dorado, Arkansas. At age five, he started learning how to perform the piano. He moved to Houston, Texas’s Hiram Clarke area at the age of six and began rapping at the age of nine. He appeared as an actor in Greg Carter, his brother1997 ,’s feature Fifth Ward.

On October 7, 2003, Carter released his first album, Lee Dogg, which was later renamed Hustlin’ Thick. At the time, Carter was known as Lee Dogg.

He remained unknown until early 2013, when the 2008 album’s title cut, You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack, was uploaded to YouTube. Since then, it has received over three million views, and soon after, news organizations began to write about him.
By far Carter’s most well-known record is You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack. According to the University of Notre Dame publication The Observer, the album’s shockingly direct title and distinctive album cover caused it to become an internet meme.
Despite being largely independent and lo-fi, the album garnered favorable press in the music industry. The record is described as “a nostalgic and ethereal blend of cloud rap and vaporwave” by Sputnik Music.
According to The Chicago Reader, the record “genius outsider artist. Carter’s outrageously violent and drug-focused lyrics, as well as his overall sonically bizarre nature, are what initially attract people to him on the Internet.”
Since then, Carter has continued to produce music, releasing nearly an album per day on average in 2014, often using recycled or chopped-and-screwed material. He has also given interviews to the local music press and made his music available on Spotify and iTunes.
He has published more than 1,500 albums as of 2020, but only about 15 of those contain only original music. As a joint effort with his new video editor, he launched RapperViper VEVO as a new YouTube account in the beginning of 2019.
