Titilayo Laoye-Tomori was born on July 16, 1954, in Oyo State, Nigeria. She had her primary education at St. Anne’s School, Molete, Ibadan, and her secondary education at St. Theresa’s College, Ibadan. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Lagos in 1977 and a Master of Public Administration degree from the same university in 1983.

Career

Titilayo Laoye-Tomori started her career as an English teacher at St. Anne’s School, Molete, Ibadan, in 1977. She later joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 1980 and rose through the ranks to become a Permanent Secretary in 1999. She served in various capacities in the Lagos State Government, including as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development, and Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

In 2011, Titilayo Laoye-Tomori was appointed as the Deputy Governor of Osun State, making her the first female Deputy Governor in the state. She served in this capacity until 2018, contributing to the development of education and women empowerment in the state.
