Sound Sultan, born Olanrewaju Fasasi, was a Nigerian musician, singer-songwriter, actor, comedian, and recording artist. He was born on November 27, 1976, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria and died on July 11, 2021, at the age of 44.

Early Life and Education

Sound Sultan was raised in the city of Kaduna, Nigeria, where he obtained his primary and secondary education. He later attended the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he studied Applied Chemistry.


Sound Sultan began his career in music in the 1990s, where he was part of several underground rap groups. His breakthrough came in 2000, when he released his debut single “Jagbajantis”, which became a hit and earned him critical acclaim in the Nigerian music scene.

Following his success, he released several albums including “Kpseeeeeeew” (2001), “Textbook” (2004), “Naija 007” (2007), “Back From The Future” (2010), “Me, My Mouth & Eye” (2012), “Out Of The Box” (2015) and “8th Wondah” (2020). He also collaborated with other Nigerian artists like Tuface Idibia, Wizkid, and Don Jazzy.

Sound Sultan was also a talented actor and appeared in several Nigerian movies such as “Head Gone” and “From Lagos with Love”. He was also a seasoned comedian, and his skits and comedy shows were popular among Nigerians.

Personal Life

Sound Sultan was married to Chichi Morah, with whom he had three children. He was known for his philanthropy and activism, and was involved in several humanitarian causes.
