Babajide Sanwo-Olu is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and the current Governor of Lagos State, Nigeria. He was born on June 25, 1965, in Lagos State, Nigeria. Sanwo-Olu holds a Bachelor of Science in Surveying and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Lagos.
He started his career working as a banker at the reputable First Bank of Nigeria and later joined the public service as a civil servant. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s political journey began in 2003 when he joined the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party and became a Special Adviser for Corporate Matters to the then Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro.
Sanwo-Olu’s commitment and hard work soon paid off and he was appointed as the Honourable Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions in 2007. He served in this position for almost 4 years and was later appointed the Honourable Commissioner of Commerce and Industry in Lagos State in 2011.
