A-Q, also known as Gilbert Bani, is a Nigerian musician that has made a name for himself in the Nigerian music industry. He first came into the limelight with his album “Make Your Best Rapper Look Stupid” in 2010, and has since then released several other successful projects.
Early Life
A-Q was born on the 1st of August, 1986 in Benue State, Nigeria. He was raised in Lagos, where he grew up and developed a love for music at a young age. He attended the University of Lagos where he studied Civil Engineering.
Career
A-Q started his music career in 2004 and was influenced by several Nigerian rappers including Mode 9, Terry Tha Rapman and M.I Abaga. He released his first project, a mixtape titled “Grade A Student”, in 2005. His break came in 2010 with the release of his album “Make Your Best Rapper Look Stupid”.
Since then, A-Q has released several other successful albums and EPs including “The Definition” (2015), “Blessed Forever” (2017) and “God’s Engineering” (2020). He has collaborated with several other Nigerian musicians including MI Abaga, Vector, and Ladipoe.
